The Staffordshire Post Office

As with many towns and villages, the number of shops has demised rapidly. One of the Post Offices was in High Street (below) while the grocer up the road was Sidebotham’s; this later became Agnew's. Joe Agnew was one of the children sent out of Manchester during WWII. It was during Joe's time that the post office and shop became one, this was in the late 60's early 70's. It is now Mow Cop Village Shop & Post Office, as well as catering for the inhabitants at the top end of Mow Cop it also stocks a wide range of novelty and craft goods
