Killer Mile 2007

Well what a great turnout yet again for the Killer Mile, and yet again what great weather. Before I begin with a brief note I would like to thank everyone involved in making it a yet another memorable event.

I was going to write about each race and how things went but all you need do is read the previous years write ups, there is not a lot new one can write about racing (my appologies if that offends you runners, none intended). Instead I am just going to write a little about some of the other interest associated with this years run.

First there was the children of Castle Primary running with their pink balloons to show their support and genuine affection they have for one of Mow Cop's longest serving dinner ladies
Mrs. Liz Curle

A picture says more than any words can

I would also like to say well done to Janine Machin who made this her second Killer Mile, this time she wore a costume, and ran with the Castle Primary School and was being sponsored for Macmillan.

Janine found the run easier this year even with the suit, apparently she's been training all year.

Finally well done To Chris Heys the 2007 fastest time of 7:04
Regulars will remember Chris won in 2005 and was this time just 1 second slower.

It is of course great to win however I would like to extend my congratulations to all the runners, I myself have never ran the Killer Mile and keep finding great excuses like my dodgy knee and I am photographing.

WELL DONE TO ALL AND PLEASE COME BACK NEXT YEAR
