26038 Private Peter Filcock

26038 Private Peter Filcock born in 1897 in Sandbach, he was one of four children to Peter and Martha Filcock who lived Thurlwood, Rode Heath. On the 1911 census Peter aged 14 years occupation was a labourer for a bricklayer, his father was a collier at Face Wood. He was unmarried.

 

Peter enlisted in Congleton in 1915, there are no surviving Military records for him but his Medal Index Card does tell us that we went to France on the 27th September 1915; he was killed on the 21st May 1916 age 19 years, he is buried in Ecoivres Military Cemetery, Mont-St. Eloi.
